- <p> "Just what California needs, another unemployed actor,"
- jokes Bob Hope. But Ronald Reagan won't be going to casting
- calls. He has signed a two-book deal, estimated to be worth $5
- million, with Simon & Schuster. He will do a book of his
- speeches and one of personal reminiscences and anecdotes. Said
- Reagan: "I've got my pen in hand, and I'm ready to get started."
